The City of Aurora on January 30 welcomed the International President of Kiwanis International, James Rochford (center), to Aurora. Kiwanis Club of Aurora President John Ross and Mayor Richard Irvine presented Rochford with a Mayoral Commendation and other gifts from Aurora. President Rochford challenged the audience of nearly 100 for involvement with schools and the community.
President-Elect Kim Groom and President John Ross presened farewell gifts to Fr. Mike Miller who is leaving for Rome. The gifts included a Detroit baseball cap, Kiwanis pen/pencil set, a commemoritve license plate, and a certificate of appreciation for his service (2005-2018). Fr. Mike will be truly missed by the Kiwanis Club of Aurora.

On July 25, 2017, the Kiwanis Club of Aurora Foundation committee recognized its spring 2017 grants. A total of $7,500 was distributed to the following... City of Lumos: Aurora's Harry Potter Festival, Fox Valley Hands of Hope, Fox Valley Special Recreation Association, Friends of Aurora's After-School Programs, Project HELP, Royal Family Kids Camp of Kane County, SPARK Aurora Early Childhood Collaboration, The A+ Foundation for West Aurora Schools, and YWCA. On a festive 4th of July afternoon at Tanner House in Aurora, the Kiwanis Club of Aurora handed-off to the Aurora Historical Society an information packed time capsule. Kiwanis historical archivist Cheryl Vonhoff placed the final rounds of duct tape to seal the club's history box. The box will be opened in the next century, 2116.
